The 10th anniversary of sartorial siblings camilla & marc and the mysterious appearance of gestating fashion mag Elle Australia bookend the official schedule for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2013, the industry event taking place less than a month from today in its newfound shabby-chic farmer’s market home at Carriageworks in Sydney liminal suburb Eveleigh.
Other notable inclusions to the running order include local lads Vanishing Elephant smack bang in the middle of what appears to be a pretty promising schedule. They’ll make a refreshing runway debut on the hump-day of the Spring-Summer 2013/2014 collections, while New Zealand label Zambesi will usher in a welcome return to these pure shores for the first time since 2010 (a lifetime ago) on the final day of The Fashions Week.
Like Christmas – minus the overeating but with twice as many clashing prints and thrice as many thinly-veiled stares of contempt – it’s the most wonderful time of the year.
