Poor Suckers Buy Fake Stereosonic Tickets Online Before Official Release

The severe heart palpitations induced from buying tickets to coveted shows the minute they’re released is one of the most stressful, anxiety-riddled situations that defines our hefty slew of #firstworldproblems. What makes missing out on tickets to a show all the more heart wrenching—because your internet connection lagged a microsecond, or you slept well past 9am and forfeited any possible chance—is the bitter realisation that you may have to navigate Gumtree and fork out hundreds to villainous ticket scalpers while hanging your head in shame.

Proving that online resellers of tickets don’t only garner a definition of “pure evil” by making the easiest $800 of their lives from marking up sold out Radiohead tickets, some not-so-clever ticket-hoarding twits have attempted to trick precious fools in to buying entry in to this year’s Stereosonic before tickets officially go on sale next week.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports a Stereosonic spokesperson has confirmed that some industry tickets are available as a pre-sale, but are strictly prohibited from being distributed and sold online: “Industry tickets are available via an exclusive trusted network of people around the country. This network is a registered group of ticket promoters who sell hand to hand tickets on behalf of Stereosonic.”
Don’t even think about buying anything listed here; tickets for the festival headlined by Calvin Harris, NERO, Labrinth and Empire Of The Sun go on sale August 1.
