Congratulations to Alvin Manalo and his razor sharp Sydney label St. Augustine Academy. We first interviewed Alvin before we had a website and before he a store (I think the internet was invented a few weeks after) so Pedestrian’s ecstatic that the Tokyo outpost of influential NYC retailer Opening Ceremony has decided to pick up menswear pieces from St. Augustine Academy’s SS/10-11 collection, Crystal Ballroom.
The label was previously stocked in Los Angeles’ H. Lorenzo and New York City’s Hotel Venus but we think the Japanese will take a particularly keen liking to St. Augustine’s dapper/goth aesthetic. If you’re not heading to Tokyo anytime soon you can always peruse Manalo’s latest wares at St. Augustine Academy’s flagship store in Surry Hills.
