Lego Made a Vivid Version Of The Sydney Opera House And It’s Fucking Awesome

To coincide with the impending midlife crisis 40th anniversary of the chameleon-like Sydney landmark and celebrate the fucking awesome fact that you (and/or your kids) will soon be able to construct the Sydney Opera House out of LEGO, the venerated world leaders in teaching kids about construction techniques have replicated two iconic images of the Sydney Opera House out of LEGO bricks.

The bespoke replications were inspired by two images: a 1959 construction image courtesy of the Sydney Opera House Trust and a photo taken by Sydney photographer Dan Boud at this year’s Vivid Festival.

Sadly, neither build will be available for purchase, foiling our dreams of doing the Vivid build, making little Empire of The Sun men and holding foreshore rave concerts in our living room.

The scale 3000 brick build of the Opera House, vastly
superior to the brand’s previous take on the landmark (which, as we
noted in a previous post looked like a super depressed mech warrior)
will be available for purchase September 1st.

The Opera House build appears as part of the ongoing LEGO Creator Expert line which has already included gorgeous scale builds of the Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower and the Tower Bridge.
