Kate Moss Cures Cancer (Indirectly)

Though many have tried, Corrine Day can actually lay claim to launching Kate Moss’ illustrious modeling career. It was Day’s photos after all, that launched a semi-awkward but undeniably effervescent 15 year old (for a now iconic 1990 issue of The Face) into the high fashion stratosphere. From that moment on The Waif was born and the rest as they say, is history.

Sadly what many people don’t know is that Day has been battling Brain Cancer for close to a decade. The iconic documentary and fashion photographer urgently requires specialist treatment from a centre in Arizona with medical expenses in the vicinity of £100,000. To offset costs Day has previously sold 300 prints of unpublished Kate Moss pictures taken in 1993 for £100 a pop. Unsurprisingly the response was overwhelming with all prints selling out in three hours and £30,000 raised for Day’s ongoing medical expenses.

With the success of her first fashion fund raiser Day will release more limited-edition Moss images including the below circa 2001 editorial for a Dutch magazine. If you want a piece of fashion history while providing for a good cause you can buy the prints by emailing emily@premiermodelmanagement.com

Check out the next available print below and that iconic cover from The Face. Has there been a more galvanizing youth culture magazine since? Methinks not.
