R.I.P. Photographer Corinne Day

Sadly, it has been confirmed that influential fashion photographer Corinne Day lost her long-enduring battle with brain cancer at the age of 45.

Day’s raw, intimate aesthetic was an antidote to the high-gloss glamour of 1980s fashion photography. She is also credited with launching Kate Moss as the model of the Nineties – most memorably through the now-iconic spread for the July 1990 issue of The Face, “The Daisy Age”, which featured a 16-year-old Kate Moss running on the beach, laughing and smoking – images that were instrumental in challenging the industry’s definition of beautiful.
