Karla Spetic offers up a gorgeous collection of adroitly tailored, masculine-meets-feminine pieces in soft sorbet shades mixed with strong colour blocking for Winter 2011. Called ‘Borderlands’ the look book is the apparel-equivalent of a cool breeze: black tapered trousers and well cut blouses are layered with Spetic’s modern take on classic outerwear – the trench, the blazer, and slouchy oversize cardigans. Pleats and cut out details, leather pieces and photographic prints complete the looks. Major up-and-comer Annaleise Smith models this beautifully understated collection that has to be Spetic’s most appealing yet.
