Folks In The UK Are Swapping Tube Stations Ads For Kitty Pics, Because Cats

Alright – weird one, but stick with us, fam.
A group in London has started to replace adverts in tube stations with beautiful portraits of curious cats.
“Well duh PEDESTRIAN.TV, you say. “It’s obviously to advertise an animal shelter or to get people to donate to a rescue charity.”
NOPE! We thought so too, but nope.
Turns out that it’s some kind of bizarre experiment by a group called the ‘Citizens Advertising Takeover Service’ – yes, the acronym is CATS
All done through the power of crowd-funding, this huge-scale troll was developed simply because ‘cats are nicer to look at than insurance adverts’.
The Kickstarter said this about why CATS did ‘Cats’:

“We know this is a silly project. But what if we did this around the whole country, or in every major city in the world? Cats everywhere!

Dumb yes, but also this is about trying something, flexing our collective voice in the most idiotic of ways. From all this madness something amazing could happen.

Perhaps we’ll start to realise that buying stuff isn’t making us happy.”
Glimpse, the company behind this excellently-excuted feline takeover adds,
“Maybe cats won’t make us happy either, but it’s got to be better than insurance adverts.”
Although this isn’t a charity campaign, the kitties featured in the ads are all rescue kittens that belong to Cat Protection:

CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE.
