Despite the looming sexual harassment suit against former chief executive Mark McInnes, it was business as usual at David Jones’ Spring/Summer showcase, held earlier this morning at the department store’s Elizabeth Street flagship in Sydney.
Abbey Lee Kershaw, Catherine McNeil, Nicole Trunfio and Alexandra Agoston – the dream team of homegrown clotheshorses who were enlisted to replace the honeymooning Miranda Kerr – were joined by other top Australian models Samantha Harris, Steph Carta, Louise Van der Vorst and Sarah Stephens and showcased 180 pieces from over 25 local designers including Camilla and Marc, Ginger & Smart, Sass & Bide and Lisa Ho.
The dust is far from settling on McInnes’ lecherous actions (or the PR shitstorm it has wrought) but when it comes to blockbuster shows with big name local talent – there’s no other store like David Jones.
