Catherine McNeil, Abbey Lee For Vogue’s 50 Year Anniversary

Vogue Australia’s 50 year anniversary issue hits stores this week celebrating 50 long years of providing our little island home with advice on what’s hot and what’s not when it comes to the clothes we put on each morning.

Featuring 4 different covers of the beautiful Cate Blanchett as well as a refreshing bare chested editorial of Abbey Lee Kershaw and Catherine McNeil shot by Greg Kadel, it seems to be shaping up as a collector’s must have.

Heck, it’s even earning some applause from the mag’s harshest critics for taking a step towards what Frockwriter is calling “a gutsy new direction” by publishing the “arty” topless photos.

And to top it off Vogue also commissioned 10 international designers to do their take on the “Aussie Cossie.” Did someone just say Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren, John Galliano? I think they did!

“When we were planning the September issue I was trying to work out a way to get our international designers involved with the celebration, a lot of the international designers haven’t even been to Australia and it’s hard for them to define what Australian style is. So I said, `Why don’t we ask them to design a great Aussie cossie?” Vogue Australia’s editor Kirsty Clements told The Australian.

We’ve got one qualm, out of all the pictures flying around the internet there’s 1 or shall I say 2 which are a little peculiar. Sourced via Frockwriter via Models.com

I guess you’ll just have to purchase yourself a copy to find out which image Vogue published.
