Alexander Wang Teams Up With Aussie Shaper To Make The Chicest Surfboards Ever

Though taste and logic would dictate that few things are more ridiculous, pretentious or worthy of derision than a $4000 Chanel longboard and What’s that surfboard, Margiela? is a question that should never be asked of anyone, chic inciter of riots Alexander Wang’s new range of designer surfboards is actually something we can get behind.

The stately collection of chic flotation devices created exclusively for the Cage installation series at the designer’s Soho flagship store in New York City features five marble print surfboards, exclusively shaped by award winning Australian surfboard brand Haydenshapes. Namely, Haydenshapes founder Hayden Cox who crafted each by hand in the image of his award winning Hypto Krypto model which was recently crowned ‘Surfboard of the Year’ by the Australian Surf Industry Association.
The look was achieved by digitally printing photographs of marble slabs onto silk, then onto the boards.
