Sinking a monster putt to close out his final round, Scott looked set to claim victory before Argentine golfer/gentleman extraordinaire, Angel Cabrera birdied and sent the pair into a sudden-death championship play-off. Having grown accustomed to Aussie grand slam chokes, fans feared it was going to be another case of oh so close, until Scott birdied to Cabera’s par on the second hole of the play-off, winning the coveted Green jacket.
Predictably Twitter went nuts, with Olympic gold medalists, news presenters, and disgraced cyclists alike, congratulating Scott on his epic win.
