18-Year-Old Arrested After Year 7 Kid Badly Injured In Muck-Up Day Stunt

A Year 7 kid from St. Luke’s Grammar School in Dee Why, New South Wales has been hospitalised after a muck-up day incident, which inflicted a badly broken leg and required surgery.

The injuries, which were described as ‘very serious’, occurred when Year 12 students – allegedly from nearby Catholic schools in the area – chased a group of Year 7 boys from a bus stop into the nearby Harbord Park. A male badly tackled one of the Year 7 boys, causing the injury, and then fled the scene.
An 18-year old from Allambie Heights turned himself into police and was arrested and charged with reckless wounding causing greivous bodily harm. He’ll appear in Manly Local Court on October 12.
Police are urging any others who were involved to come forward. “Investigations are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward,” a spokesman said.
Look, muck-up day is fun and all, but don’t be a bloody dill.
