The Olympic champ scored his maiden goal early on in the second half to an almighty roar followed by his second just minutes before he was substituted in the 75th minute leading the Mariners to a 4-0 friendly win.

The Mariners welcomed Bolt to their club back in August for an “indefinite training period” as the fastest man alive makes his dream transition from sprinter to professional footballer. There have been no promises for a permanent position on the team but a man can dream… and score two goals in his first game.

After the match, Bolt told Fox Sports that he was happy and proud of his progress in the sport so far:

“I think I made some slight mistakes but it was my first proper game for the team so I’m just happy I got a chance and I’m proud of myself,” Bolt said.

“I’m happy I could come here and show the world I’m improving.”

In time, the 32-year-old hopes he can score a permanent position on the team: “I’m keen to be a Mariner, to play my best and get into the team.”

Bolt celebrated his first goal with his signature lightning strike pose.

And for his second celebration? Bit of Fortnite.
