Look, don’t get us wrong – if we’ve felt compelled to share an event with you, it’s undoubtedly worthy of your attendance. On the odd occasion, however, something crosses our desks that’s so awesome, we have no choice but to tell you you’d be an idiot if you didn’t go. So on that note, it is with a great deal of pleasure that we introduce you to the Coors Block Party.
Seeing as Coors is the proud partner of the NBA, they wanted to create a basketball experience the likes of which Sydney’s never seen before – one that celebrates all things tied to the urban street culture synonymous with the sport. Like, this is gonna be HUGE, people.
On June 9, they’re transforming Max Watts into a spot any basketballer worth their salt would be stoked with. The hero of the night will be the streetball style courts setup in the carpark where you and your mates can shoot hoops for dayz. Inside, there’ll be arcade games like NBA Jam and Pop-A-Shot for you to try your hand at.
Oh, and the entire d-floor will be laid out to feel like you’re inside a basketball stadium. Not too shabby at all, right?!
Speaking of d-floors, huge heavy-hitters Spit Syndicate and Jackie Onassis will no joke be headlining the event / delivering you bangers all night long. They’ll be supported by the likes of One Day DJ’s, Halfway Crooks and Flex Mami (who we’d turn up for in and of themselves, tbqh). All of the acts will be serving hip hop tunes, with a focus on OG favourites as the night progresses.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE. A LOT MORE.
Jimmy from Spit Syndicate will also be curating graffiti in the arvo for you to witness in amazement over, and Superior Burger will be launching their brand new food ‘bus’, the Superior Express, at the event to dish y’all up their epic burgers + Coors beer-battered potato scallops. In an equally awesome vein, there’ll be fashion installations and pop-ups and a VIP bar put on by Timberland.
Lastly, seeing as Coors are the generous mob that they are, they’ll be supplying you with a few complimentary bevs during the night – and who the hell doesn’t love themselves a free, icy cold frothy?!
Everyone will be wearing their streetwear-best, so make sure you don your sneakers / your best jersey to avoid sticking out like a sore thumb.
