Rafael Nadal Beats Roger Federer To Book Spot In Australian Open Final

Spaniard Rafael Nadal has beaten long time rival Roger Federer in straight sets to book himself a spot in the Australian Open Final.

Nadal bulldozed through the match last night by beating Federer (7-6, 6-3, 6-3) in a match that cemented Nadal’s ranking as world-number-one. In the final he will come face to face with Federer’s Swiss teammate, Stanislas Wawrinka (aka ‘The Stanimal’), who was responsible for ending Novak Djokovic’s four year winning streak at the Australian Open.

So, what can we expect from the the grand final? Probably a hell of a lot more of this…

Though, you can’t really blame him, can you? The level of satisfaction involved in pulling out a deep wedgie is ridiculously high. It’d be on par with getting that thing stuck between your teeth out or finally taking your socks off after a hard days work.

The 27-year-old Spaniard is now into his 19th Grand Slam final and
should he win he’ll become the first man in the Open era, and only the
third man in history, to win each of the four Grand Slam titles twice.

Good to know he’s still kept his sense of humour…

Cheeky bugger.
