Pavlich To Miss Out On 7th All-Australian Nod

It has been described as the toughest selection battle in recent memory so a spot in the squad for Mathew Pavlich was never a sure thing but the highly fancied Fremantle Dockers captain won’t even get a free feed after an invitation snub to tonight’s All-Australian dinner. This provides the clearest indication yet that selectors are set to reward new blood with Colman Medalist Jack Riewoldt and Adelaide’s Taylor Walker looking likely to earn debut nods up front. To further rub salt into the wounds, Pavlich will be traveling to Melbourne anyway for surgery on his troublesome hip and achilles tendon. Spewin’ for ya’ Pavo, they can shove the chicken or fish up their arse hey?

Selection would have been all the more remarkable considering Pavlich had not earned an All Australian nod since 2008. The 30 year-old booted 62 regular season goals, here’s the 8 he kicked in the round 19 derby against West Coast.
