Michael Phelps Takes On Gravity – Gravity Wins

Sometimes tall poppies need to come down a notch or two. In a year where he became the most decorated Olympian of all time, had been voted the fittest person ever, and announced himself as a seriously talented amateur golfer, Michael Phelps was due for a little reminder that what goes up must come down… literally.

Partying like only a 28-time Olympic medalist knows how, Phelps was rocking out in the packed XS nightclub in Las Vegas when he was coaxed by fellow revellers into crowd surfing on an inflatable boat. Unfortunately the SS Phelpsie’s maiden voyage was not all smooth sailing. More to the point, there was no sailing at all, as the rubber dingy travelled all of three feet before the back gave way sending Phelps tumbling to the floor. Luckily the pool-king was left nursing only a bruised ego while the rest of us were comforted by the fact that even the world’s fittest man must answer to gravity.

This is how you do it. Steve Aoki mightn’t have the motor-boating size twelves of a world recording breaking Olympic swimmer but the dude can start a party.
