Karl Stefanovic Suffers Ultimate Indignity, Outed As New South Welshman In Origin

Somewhere in between feeding a giant tortoise lettuce leaves while draped in a maroon scarf and storming off The Today Show set in a blind rage, “one of the most passionate Queenslanders in the world” Karl Stefanovic suffered the ultimate indignity earlier today after sports presenter Ben Fordham outed him as a New South Welshman ahead of tonight’s third and final State of Origin.

“This is a tweet from [Karl’s brother] Peter Stefanovic,” read Fordham, “who says ‘remember when Karl Stefanovic reminded you he was born in NSW when Qld were losing? He floats with the breeze that bloke.’” So despite Karl being one of the most passionate Queenslanders in the world, can you finally reveal once and for all your place of birth?” Fordham asked of Karl.
To which Karl, the 38-year-old 5-year-old, replied: “Does that matter?… I spent longer in Queensland than Greg Inglis.”
“State of Origin. State of Origin. State of Origin. Three very simple words Karl,” interjected resilient co-host Lisa Wilkinson. “State of Origin. State of Origin.”
Karl then proceeded to storm off set in a fit of faux fury after it was revealed he was born in Darlinghurst, shouting, “Good luck without me!” Added Wilkinson, “Stick that one up you Karlos!” referencing her co-anchor’s Hispanic alter-ego.
Stefanovic has since contacted news.com.au to clarify his origin story, saying “I lived in Sydney until I was a year and a half. For my brother to knife me like this just makes you wonder.”
“Ben Fordham is a five-star fake and he wishes he could be a Queenslander.”
