H2O Skimming Legend Ian Thorpe In Hospital With Dang Shoulder Infection

Australian swimming champ Thorpey has contracted a few nasty bugs from surgeries previously performed on his broad professional swimmer shoulders. Somehow a rumour started that he was going to lose all use of his left arm and/or die (which could have something to do with Alan Jones saying that “there may well be restricted movement – minor in a sense in the left shoulder”), something which his agent James Erskine addressed saying: “That’s just people making that up, I mean that’s just nonsense.”

However he did go on to confirm that he won’t be swimming competitively anytime soon (ever) and that “he’s spent weeks in hospital so it’s, from that point of view, it’s a bit grim…As they say ‘shit happens’, he’s unlucky and how long it’s going to take to clear up, I don’t know.”

“He’s on an IV drip, he has drains in his shoulder. He’s a sick puppy, but at the end of the day he’s not critical. He’s not in intensive care. Like all these things, the doctors and nurses in Australia are good and it’s bad luck that he got this and he’s fighting it like he always has.”

Unfortunately this will also mean that he Thorpey won’t be able to see his ~*Best Friend*~ Prince William (whose wedding he attended back in whatever year Willy got mazzed). “He’s got sort of tubes in him and on antibiotic drips and draining the infection, so he’s not going to run out and meet Prince William tomorrow” said Erskine.
