Even when you’re a big, bad, professional football player preparing for your team’s biggest game of the year, it doesn’t stop Mum from sending a few loving words of encouragement before kickoff.
And when that game inexplicably goes from phenomenally good to a complete and utter disaster in a shockingly small amount of time, it certainly doesn’t stop Mum from cheering you up afterwards.
The Green Bay Packers star second year running back Eddie Lacy‘s Mum is very, very proud of her boy, and isn’t shy about letting him know it either.
Before yesterday’s NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks, she sent her Eddie through a few kind, last minute words of encouragement, letting him know that she loves him.
And when the capitulating (and oddly conservative) Packers were overrun within the space of 4 minutes by a rampaging Seahawks in one of the most unbelievable comebacks in NFL playoff history, she sent him through a few sage words to cheer him up in what otherwise must have been a very glum and shattered locker room environment.
Lacy, being the generous son-of-a-gun that he is, shared it with the world.
American football’s a pretty tough game and all. But come on, that’s just straight up freakin’ adorable.
Big shout out to Mums everywhere.
