Swans Star Gary Rohan Carries Baby Bella Onto Field For 100 Match Milestone

To celebrate his 100 match milestone, Sydney Swans star and utter legend Gary Rohan brought his beautiful baby girl, Bella Rae onto the field in tonight’s clash against North Melbourne at the SCG.

Gaz was surrounded by friends, family, and fans as he carefully jogged with Bella in his arms toward the banner congratulating him on the fantastic milestone.

Three weeks ago, Gary’s amazing wife Amie prematurely gave birth to their twin girls Willow Navaeh and Bella Rae. During Amie’s pregnancy, the couple publicly shared how Willow had been diagnosed with anencephaly which means portions of the baby’s brain, skull, and scalp do not fully develop in the womb. Babies with this condition pass away moments to hours after their birth.

Little Willow died five hours after her parents welcomed her into the world.

Despite the unimaginable grief, Gary and Amie have shown tremendous strength through their openness about their family life as they raise awareness for the condition so that other parents in similar situations know they are not alone.

Little Bella has since spent some time in the NICU nursery at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney but as of two days ago, has been given the all clear and is now receiving plenty of cuddles and kisses at home.

On her Instagram, Amie posted:

“3 weeks ago today the girls arrived, and now, 3 weeks later we are home. Forever a family of 5.”

To support their teammate, the Swans wore black and white armbands the week the twins were born – a match Gary also stepped down from to spend time with his family and understandably grieve. Then just one week later, Gaz returned to the field wearing a black armband in memory of Willow.

A massive congratulations to Gary for the 100 games and wishing all the best to the beautiful Rohan family.
