Gabriel Medina Nails Radical Backflip

Brazilian pro surfer Gabriel Medina has just added a new chapter to the rubber-men-defying-gravity playbook after nailing an insane backflip in Hawaii over the the weekend. Having recently ripped on Medina for being a bit of a sook after losing out to Aussie Julian Wilson in a tight final in the Rip Curl Pro in Portugal, we’d have to admit that we be pretty pissed too if we were nailing these kind of circus tricks and still coming up short with the judges.

Medina has been working on the maneuver in the lead up to to the season ending Billabong Pipeline Masters but this was his most impressive effort by far. “Today, I pulled the most crazy aerial backflip of my entire life. I
still don’t believe I’ve completed it
“, said Gabriel Medina. I’m guessing you need to spend at least six hours a day at the beach before words like radical and bodacious naturally start slipping off the tongue… but that was bodaciously radical, brah!

And here’s one Gabriel prepared earlier.

Obviously we wouldn’t be naive enough to think we could offer Gab any advice but I’m assuming he’ll be keeping his new trick in the kit bag next month at Pipe.
