Bulldogs Sponsor As Clueless As The Bulldogs



It appears to be the blind leading the blind out out at Belmore as sponsors weigh in on the incident where inappropriate comments were directed at Channel 9 reporter, Jayne Azzopardi, by unnamed players during Mad Monday celebrations. Alcohol fueled scandals usually see sponsors running for the hills but not Gary Johnston, head of the Bulldogs’ major sponsor Jaycar Electronics, who went on Radio 2GB on Wednesday to defend the player’s right to privacy.

If a woman walks into some bars in Sydney, she will be ogled. She will be treated as an object and that’s the way it is. She doesn’t have to walk into those bars.

A-durp-a-durp! Player privacy is one thing but directing abuse at a female reporter along the lines of “S*** me off ya dumb dog” at your place of employment is another. In a year where the AFL has implemented anti-homophobia and anti-racism initiatives , the NRL has been exposed as being behind the times with his latest sexist incident – further highlighted by the boys being boys explanation by the major sponsor.
