Aaron Mooy Now Australia’s Most Spenno Footballer After Huge $20M Transfer

Socceroos gun Aaron Mooy has become the most expensive Aussie footballer of all time, after completing his move to English club Huddersfield Town for a fee believed to be in the vicinity of $20 million.
Mooy, who played a crucial role in leading Huddersfield Town from English football’s second-tier to the Premier League for the upcoming season, has agreed to the terms of a three -year deal. He’d previously been on loan from giants Manchester City.
That fee dwarves those paid for Aussie Premier League legends Tim Cahill, Mark Schwarzer, and Mark Viduka. It’s also expected to balloon even further, once additional clauses in his contract added by Manchester City are taken into account.
“I’ve grown to feel part of the Terriers family,” Mooy said.
“Now we’re in the Premier League, not only do I get to play at the highest level of football, but I continue to be part of a team that achieved something special and we will continue on that journey together to try and achieve much more.”
The 27-year-old midfielder has been praised for his intelligent and technically proficient playing style, and has become a firm fan favourite at Town.
After contributing to their play-off win against Reading, Mooy was named in the league’s team of the season. This aptly-soundtracked clip indicates why.

Pundits have pegged the plucky Huddersfield Town side to perform pretty well in the savage Premier League, under the guidance of celebrated German manager David Wagner. You’ll be able to catch him in action when HTFC face Premier League battlers Crystal Palace on August 13.
