Apparently A Whole Bunch Of You CBF Vaccinating Yr Pets, Which Is Not Good

Ok let me start this by saying: vaccinating yourself, and your pets, is important. Please do it. Not only is it keeping your pets (and yourself) in check, it’s also making sure that everyone else around you is safe from nasty diseases, too. And if you’re not sure whether you’re all due for your shots, please check up on that shit.

According to a new study by the team at finder.com.au, one in four of us that own a fluffy mate cannot be arsed to vaccinate them, can’t remember the last time they had their booster shots, or simply don’t believe in vaccinating animals.

Much like keeping human children healthy and protected, we really should be doing the same for our four-legged pals, hey.

Unvaccinated animals can contract and spread canine diseases, and can contract Lyme Disease from wildlife and other stray animals. They can develop Kennel Cough if unprotected and sharing living facilities with other animals that are also unvaccinated. The list is pretty extensive, and I’m absolutely sure that you don’t want to end up at the vets with yr dog or cat sick with something easily preventable.

Pet owners in Western Australia are the most likely to have their pets unvaccinated, with 35% of those surveyed being from the West Coast.

So if this little PSA has reminded you that you’re not really sure if your lil’ mates have had their yearly boosters (yeah, you’re meant to get ’em checked every year), then get your butt into gear, ‘cos they’re depending on you to keep them healthy and happy.
