22 Y.O. Man Arrested And Charged Over Murder Of XXXTentacion

A 22-year-old man has faced court in Florida over the murder of Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, better known as XXXTentacion.

Onfroy was shot dead in his car this week while leaving a luxury motorcycle dealership. He later died in hospital.

The suspect, named as Dedrick Devonshay Williams, is facing a charge of first-degree murder.

Williams faced court this morning, on the charge of first-degree murder. He did not speak during the hearing, where he was represented by a public defender. Judge Kim Theresa Mollica ordered he be held without bond.

Court records show that Williams has previously faced charges of  grand theft auto, domestic violence, cocaine possession and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He did not face jail time for any of these charges, some of which were dropped.

Though police said that they are not looking for any other suspects, local reports suggest that two other arrest warrants have been issued over the matter.

No motive has been formally released for the murder, though police earlier made statements suggesting that it was a robbery.

Onfroy was leaving the car dealership at around 4pm local time when two men approached him, officials say. At least one of them shot him before fleeing in a dark-coloured SUV.

XXXTentacion was described as one of the most controversial figures in hip hop. His short career was marred by allegations of extreme domestic abuse and violence, and he was facing charges at the time of his death.
