Rapper XXXTentacion has been shot in South Florida, according to a report by TMZ.
Eyewitnesses at the scene told the publication that they heard multiple shots fired and that the 20-year-old “appeared lifeless with no pulse.”
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office told Billboard that they received an emergency call regarding a shooting in Deerfield Beach, Florida, at 3:57 p.m. ET on Monday (June 18) and that an “adult male victim” was transported to the hospital from the scene.
Dispatch audio revealed that XXX was transported as a “Level 1” trauma patient, with dispatchers describing him as comatose.
The audio also reveals that the incident was a possible drive-by shooting, naming several possible getaway vehicles including a black Dodge Journey, Chevy Tahoe and a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
XXX was reportedly shopping for motorcycles in South Florida and, as he was leaving the motorcycle dealer, a gunman ran up to his vehicle and shot him. Witnesses told cops a Louis Vuitton bag was taken from his vehicle.
The controversial rapper (real name: Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy) is currently facing more than a dozen felony charges and allegations of domestic violence including his alleged beating of a girlfriend while pregnant.
The charges resulted in numerous media outlets calling for the music industry to not “co-sign,” or endorse, his music.
