WATCH: This A+ Spice Girls Vid Remake Makes ‘Girl Power’ Stronger Than Ever

A remake of the music video for the Spice Girls iconic debut single ‘Wannabe‘ is going viral at the moment.
While the OG song (and further SG branding) used  ~GIRL POWER~ as a cute moniker for youth empowerment, the message has now moved on to be an emancipation slogan to highlight major issues that affect women all around the world.
While the girls in the clip – most of which are Women of Colour – dance through markets and streets with passion, talent and energy that could be rivalled only by Beyoncé‘s Formation dancers, they also come across signs talking about some huge issues.
END VIOLENCE AGAINST GIRLS‘, ‘QUALITY EDUCATION FOR ALL GIRLS‘, ‘END CHILD MARRIAGE‘, and ‘EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK‘ all flash up throughout the video.
Lover of little Gucci dresses, Posh Spice/Victoria Beckham has even endorsed the incredible video, sharing it on her Facebook page with the caption,

“20 years on – Girl Power being used to empower a new generation. I’m so proud of The Global Goals ?#?WhatIReallyReallyWant?”
Oh god, we’re getting emotional.
