Hooley dooley, whoever did the makeup for ‘Fargo‘ season three deserves all the money in the world, if this tiny little teaser is anything to go by.
We knew that Ewan McGregor was going to be playing two – count ’em, TWO – brothers in the hotly anticipated new season of Noah Hawley‘s insanely good and darkly comedic thriller series. What we didn’t know, however, is that makeup for the characters would render him virtually unrecognisable.
The first teaser trailer to feature any character action for the new season has finally arrived, but in typical ‘Fargo‘ fashion it still keeps its hands to its chest.
Rather than some plot-heavy glimpse of what’s to come, the short teaser instead serves up a simple – if not ominous – diner scene featuring McGregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and an also-heavily physically transformed Carrie Coon.
That “DINER“/”DIE” sign metaphor is a bit slapped-over-the-head, but the show never shied away from the fact that it’s built on a foundation of spilled blood.
That aside it’s another season of tense and deeply funny violence set in the frigid niceness of Minnesota and my god I cannot wait.
‘Fargo‘ season three lands on April 19th via FX in the US. Locally, SBS has the broadcast rights stitched up, so expect it on your TV screens very shortly thereafter.
