The emotional downside of The Emmy Awards paying tribute to great actors who passed since the last ceremony was particularly tragic this year as wrenching commemorations were given to both the legendary James Gandolfini and Corey Monteith.
Watch as on-screen partner to James Gandolfini in The Sopranos, Edie Falco, pay a touching tribute to a undeniable star. Holding it together until the end, Falco expressed the joy from her relationship with Gandolfini “the man”, not his iconic performances: “His portrayal of Tony Soprano had such depth and dimension that
still a lot of people have a hard time believing that’s not who he
really was.“
After dabbing at your eyes that definitely just have something in them, watch as Corey Monteith‘s incredible co-star Jane Lynch pays tribute to the 31 year old, who passed away earlier this year. Lynch remembers Moneteith proudly and affectionately as a “beautiful soul”; laments that the tragedy hit the Glee “family” deeply, and wished to remind the Emmy audience of his untimely circumstances, saying, “his tragic death is a remind of the rapacious, senseless destruction of addiction.”
