Unfortunately, road rage is a very real and exceedingly terrifying thing on Australian streets. And cyclists tend to cop more than their fair share of ire from furious drivers.
But this one just about takes the cake.
A cyclist in Perth has uploaded footage of an absolutely horrifying incident, in which a driver of a 4WD threatened him with a knife after a near-miss incident.
The footage shows the 4WD speeding up to try and overtake the cyclist as they both approach a roundabout, with the car nearly forcing the bike off the road.
The cyclist physically pushed the intruding car off, causing the driver to flip out, overtake the bike, stop on the side of the road, and exit the vehicle to confront the cyclist whilst brandishing a knife.
WA Police were handed the footage, and the knife-wielding lunatic was reportedly levelled with a $1,500 fine for his troubles.
Bloody hell. If you ever find yourself in the mood to get a little stabby just because someone made you wait a few extra seconds to get through an intersection, we suggest contemplating upping the dosage of those chill pills you’re clearly not taking.
