The novelty of ‘Harry Potter‘ will never get old. As part of the generation who grew up alongside the release of the books, it’s only natural that we have transcended the age and stage where we are still praying that our acceptance letter to Hogwarts is on its way (although I’m sure some people would contest me on that). Now, all we wish for is a real solid piss-up at the Hog’s Head with our mates Harry, Hermione and Ron, and Draco too because he got really emotional and was always super cool.
Well, if you live in Melbourne, that can kind of definitely become a reality for you. The reliable folks at Good Things are bringing the best of the wizarding world’s booze to South Yarra in the form of a popup bar. Not Butterbeer – that’s weak as (though it seems to get Hermione tanked).
We’re talking about the nice, clean stuff, Firewhisky, which is worth trying because we must learn, once and for all, whether it tastes any more like fire than regular whisky does. Polyjuice Potion will also be on offer as either an alcoholic a non-alcoholic option if you’re keen for a sober night – which, again, is recommended, because who doesn’t want to physically resemble their more attractive friend for a few hours?
You can buy pretty fancy custom Firewhisky glasses online for eight bucks before Friday, or grab ’em on the night for a cool tenner, which will be yours to keep for eternity.
