One week ago to the day, citizens of Orlando crafted ‘angel wings’ and wore them to shield mourners at funeral services from the Westboro Baptist Church and their spiteful garbage.
Today, at London’s Pride parade, not one but two police officers used the opportunity to propose to their same-sex partners.
Here’s what we’re getting at: world, we are totally in favour of dedicating Sunday afternoons to positive, heart-melting depictions of love, pride and acceptance. Lord knows there’s too much hate out there.
Regardless, in shots captured by MET LGBT Network, the officers – in regular beat uniform, no less – bend the knee in an absolutely grand display of civil liberty and love, y’all:

Understandable, really – not everybody cops a fiancé (heh) before thousands of ready-made fans.
As for everyone else? We get to relish in their happiness in the aftermath, and remind ourselves that the UK isn’t all about breaking unions these days.
