It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, wait. What the fuck is that?
Last Tuesday a Melbourne man named Tod, whose surname remains unpublished by choice, filmed what he describes as an “unearthly” fast-moving disc-shaped object descending and ascending high above his house at 9:30pm.
Although only eight minutes of footage was captured on his phone, he and another discombobulated neighbour observed the curious object for approximately an hour until its red, green and blue lights completely disappeared at around 11pm.
“It was moving like no other flying object that I’m aware exists, and it was displaying amazing patterns of lights that looked something like a light show display in the sky,” he told The Herald Sun.
“I was on Lygon St when I first saw it then I walked up to Carlton Gardens, there were a whole bunch of other people saw it as well,” he said.
So then, was it a freak phenomenon explainable by science or have Martians just heard how liveable Melbourne is? You decide.
