Two men have been captured on video climbing to the top of the AWA Tower in Sydney’s CBD this afternoon.
9NEWS report emergency services arrived at the scene just past 4:00pm, after being told at least four men were climbing the outside of the heritage listed tower on York Street.
Only two of the men were captured on film, climbing to the very top of the 111-metre tower. Witnesses told 9News that the other two men stopped at about three quarters of the way up.
Pedro Cuccovillo, a witness who filmed the blokes, told 2GB that he didn’t think they were wearing harnesses.
“They were literally a slip away from pretty much death, to be honest with you,” he said.
“[They went] all the way to the top… in the other hand holding a phone for a selfie.”

According to 9NEWS, the men have since started to climb down the tower through its centre. The other two blokes have reportedly legged it.
