More than 91 million people use location-based dating apps worldwide, which means that around 90 million have either sent or received an appalling joke pick-up line around the topic of pet insurance.
Interestingly, though, new figures have shown that men outnumber women on dating apps by a significant margin – 62% to 38%, if research from GlobalWebIndex is to be believed.
In short, your suspicions that Tinder is a giant sausage party were just confirmed.
We’re assuming that these figures take into account the existence of Grindr, which is 100% horny dudes all the time, and might skew the numbers a bit. Sigh. Hey, at least it’s a boom time for Tumblrs highlighting the various men of online dating.
Another, perhaps more interesting thing to emerge from the research is that one fifth of dating app users pay for the privilege, an above-average number when it comes to internet users.
This willingness to shell out cash for special sexy cuddle times could be why Tinder is all set to launch its premium Tinder Plus platform, which will allow users to undo likes, and search for matches in locations outside their areas.
