Donald Trump has officially endorsed far-right Senate candidate Roy Moore, who has been accused of sexually harassing and assaulting teenage girls when he was in his 30s.

Moore, who is running for the Alabama senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions when he became Trump’s attorney-general, has lost the backing of many top Republicans after multiple allegations surfaced suggesting he routinely preyed on girls in their early teens when he was well into his thirties.
Reports from local media in Alabama found that Moore was well-known in the local community for his fixation on teenage girls, to the point that he was allegedly banned from a local mall. A retired police officer told AL.com that fellow officers knew to keep an eye out for Moore when he was around.
The Moore campaign confirmed that Trump had called the candidate to offer his endorsement. “President Trump called Judge Moore a ‘fighter’ and expressed his eagerness to have Judge Moore fighting for his agenda in Washington. The president wrapped up the call with a ‘go get ’em, Roy!’”

Trump had in recent weeks avoided even addressing the Roy Moore issue, though some insider reports suggested he thought the allegations – which came from multiple women, including at least one Trump voter – were made up.
Even before the allegations surfaced, Moore was a controversial far-right candidate. He has been described as a ‘theocrat’, and believes that there should be no separation between church and state, in direct contravention of the constitution. He believes homosexual conduct is “sinful” and believes in extremely harsh law and order policies, as well as dramatic reductions in immigration.
The RealClearPolitics polling average for the Alabama race currently gives Moore a three-point lead over his opponent, Democratic Party candidate Doug Jones.
Well, that’s where the U.S. is currently situated at the moment: voting for a likely child molester because you hate immigrants so much. What a wonderful, wonderful time to be alive.
