Trump Lashes Out At The 4 Women Who Have Accused Him Of Sexual Misconduct

In the wake of the #MeToo saga, the conversation has turned back to Donald Trump and the sexual misconduct allegations against him, and the president is absolutely not enjoying it. He’s pushing back on women who have accused him of sexual harassment and assault, furiously tweeting that they are “fabrications”.

This comes after Trump fully endorsed Senate candidate Roy Moore, who has been accused of sexually harassing and assaulting teenage girls. The Alabama Senate election is happening as we speak, and a robocall recorded by Trump circulated around the state over the past couple of days.

Four women – Jessica Leeds, Samantha Holvey, Rachel Crooks and Melinda McGillivray – have reiterated their stories about Trump which they initially shared during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump also personally attacked Democratic senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who called on the president to step down over the allegations, in a tweet that many have described as lewd and sexually suggestive:

Speaking to reporters, Gillibrand said the tweet was “a sexist smear attempting to silence my voice. It’s part of the president’s effort at name-calling.”

Continuing, she said she would not be silenced by Trump’s crude wink-and-nudge tweet:

I will not be silenced on this issue. Neither will the women who stood up to the president yesterday, and neither will the millions of women who have been marching since the women’s march [in January] to stand up against policies they do not agree with.

The White House refused to answer when asked what Trump meant by saying Gellibrand  “would do anything” for donations.

Eric Swalwell, a Democratic congressman from California, said Trump’s comments were “ugly and suggestive”.

“We all know what he was trying to say there,” Swalwell told CNN.
