Tradie Dies After Falling Several Storeys From Western Sydney Worksite

A 38-year-old tradesman died on Wednesday afternoon after falling seven storeys at a building site in Western Sydney.

Mohamad Riche was identified by rescue services late on Wednesday, having fallen at the Jordan Springs worksite just after midday.

A witness to the incident told The Daily Telegraph that Riche had been working on the roof removing building material when he tripped and fell down a lift shaft.

Emergency crews, paramedics, and a Care Flight helicopter rushed to the scene, with specialist paramedics abseiling down the shaft to gain access, but Riche had died by the time they reached him.

Inspector Craig Thomas from NSW Ambulance told 9News it was a real tragedy.

“We have a young man in his ’30s who has come to work today and unfortunately he wont be going home tonight to his family and unfortunately it’s an avoidable type of incident,” he said.

“So it’s a real tragedy to his family.”
