As the old adage goes,

In this case, it turns out the Liberal Party of Australia prematurely redirected the conversation to home ground.

On the 13th of May this year the Commonwealth Treasurer, The Honourable Joe Hockey MP, delivered the 2014 Federal Budget. On the same day www.abbottlies.com.au and www.abbottlies.net.au were both registered by “Liberal Party of Australia” and now both automatically redirect to www.liberal.org.au

Bill Shorten said of the shopping spree: “Tony Abbott knew exactly what he was doing, he knew Australians would be angry about his lies — that’s why he bought these websites…I think there is an incredibly irony when people type in abbottlies.com and they get redirected to the Liberal Party’s main website.”

Meanwhile, when asked by a student at Seaforth public school “what happens when people don’t agree with your point of view?” Abbott did not, in fact, reply with anything even approaching ‘Why, you BUY THE INTERNET, of course!!!!!!!!’ but instead:
