‘Silicon Valley’ Bros Recount Gross Run-In With Abusive Trump Supporters

Silicon Valley stars Kumail Nanjiani and Thomas Middleditch have reported being accosted by some belligerent Donald Trump supporters, and their description of events doesn’t exactly bode well for Americans who don’t want to be called a “cuck.”

Middleditch first explained the situation on Twitter last night:

For the record, and we still can’t believe we’re including this sentence in an article ostensibly about politics: “cuck” is derived from “cuckold,” a term which describes anyone who has a fetish for watching other people have sex with their partner.

Over the past year or so, the term has been co-opted by elements of the alt-right to describe people who supposedly like watching their country get fucked over by left-wing policies.
Nanjiani elaborated on that cuck-calling shortly after, and look, the story doesn’t get any more palatable with further context:

Nanjiani made a pretty cogent point when he pointed out how lucky he was in that encounter, considering it took place in a crowded bar.
Only days after the election, numerous incidents of hateful racist abuse have been reported around the nation, and you best believe not everyone is as well-equipped to deal with that BS as these two.
Owing to the fact he is actually a comedian, Middleditch decided to reclaim the word anyway.
