HBO Release Full Trailer For Tech Start Up Comedy ‘Silicon Valley’

Upon the release of the first full trailer for any new HBO series, you’re obliged to draw reductive parallels between the series at hand – today, tech start-up culture comedy Silicon Valley – and its HBO/cultural cannon predecessors.

From Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill creator Mike Judge and based on his experiences at a tech start-up in the late 80s, Silicon Valley looks something like the brain child of The Social Network and How To Make It In America; combining the Gen Y neuroses of Girls and the bro harem vibes of Entourage with the slight tech influence you glimpse occasionally in Looking, but with 100% less fellatio.
This looks pretty funny too. Heretofore comedic bit players Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods and Kumail Nanjiani lead the show’s ‘Hacker Hostel’ cast, and the series is slated to debut on HBO April 6th in concurrence with the return of Game of Thrones as it goes head to head with the penultimate instalment of Mad Men
What a time to be alive.
