Scott Morrison’s Interview With Ray Hadley Got So Fiery It Was Terminated

Holy shit, Scott Morrison just went on Ray Hadley’s 2GB show and things got .

First, he confirmed that ex-PM Tony Abbott was going to “throw Joe Hockey under a bus” and offer him the role of Treasurer in exchange for his support.

Then, he and Hadley basically had a a friendship meltdown, when Hadley started demanding that Morrison swear on the bible that he didn’t mislead 2GB over the leadership.

“We’re mates, mate, but that steps over the line.”

Apart from giving a correct demonstration of how Australians use “mate” to mean “you absolute cunt”, Scott Morrison behaved – and this is strange to write – like an absolute champ in the face of Ray Hadley invoking his faith to bully him. “You get to judge my policies, you don’t get to judge my faith, mate.

If that’s what you need then we don’t have the relationship that I thought we had.”

“I will do it, Ray, but I think it’s a very offensive thing for you to ask me to do.”

“The reason I don’t wish to do it is because I don’t think my faith and my religion should be part of the Australian political debate. But if you want to bring that into it, if you think that’s the sort of thing you want to display here with the cameras on, if that’s the sort of thing you want to choose to do on your program, that’s up to you. So I’ll let you decide.”

Ray terminated the interview.

Speaking to media afterwards, Morrison he didn’t believe Hadley would go down that road.

“The point he was trying to make was that I wasn’t prepared to swear an oath on the things I was saying.”

“I was really disappointed he wouldn’t insist on that. I think he understood he overstepped the line.”

In the meantime, ScoMo is considered to be the front-runner for the position of Treasurer when Malcolm Turnbull announces his cabinet on Monday, although he denied being offered the role by Turnbull during the interview. To be continued.
