Ryan Phillippe’s former partner has filed a lawsuit against him alleging that he physically assaulted her whilst in a drunken rage.
The actor, known for his role in seminal 90s movies ‘Cruel Intentions‘ and ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer‘, has been accused by girlfriend Elsie Hewitt of punching and kicking her and hurling her down a flight of stairs at his L.A. home in July this year.
News site The Blast has obtained copies of the court documents which detail the alleged abuse, with Hewitt claiming Phillippe’s obsessive behaviour towards her quickly became physically abusive on July 4th, when she visited his home to collect some of her belongings and found him agitated:
Phillippe reacted by attacking Hewitt. He grabbed Hewitt’s upper arm so tightly that his grip left heavy bruises on her arms hours later. He then braced his body and violently threw her down his staircase as hard as he could.
After getting to her feet Hewitt alleges a further struggle began with Phillippe striking her with his hands and feet before yelling at her to “GET THE F**K OUT OF MY HOUSE, YOU CRAZY C**T!”.

Hewitt is seeking over $1 million in damages in the lawsuit, however Phillippe has denied the claims, stating it was in fact Hewitt that attacked him.
The lawsuit is currently in front of the Superior Court of California.
