Russell Crowe Files For Divorce From South Sydney Rabbitohs

Renaissance man Russell Crowe has reportedly filed for divorce from his beloved rugby league club, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, in an effort to simplify his life at a time when the directoractorvampireamateur seaman and karaoke champ has never been busier.

According to reports in the Sydney Morning Herald, league commentator Danny Weidler told Channel 9’s Today Show earlier this morning that the two had been engaged in a back and forth txt cnvrstn in which Crowe revealed that he’d ben thinking about breaking up with his stake in the club lately; the same club in which he has invested a cool $11 million in the past six years, shown many a good time and treated right when no other celebrities would:
From what I understand, Russell is just trying to simplify his life. As you know, he has been through a lot recently in his personal life, and I would say that is … a part of his reasoning.”
According to Weidler, Crowe feels like the two have grown apart in recent years, not out of animosity or neglect, but simply because the Souths are in a different, sexier place now – one where they no longer need Russell there, champing at the bit on the sidelines and offering to buy them a pie on the way home in the car – and he hopes the two can still be friends:
They are one of the sexiest clubs in rugby league. People like to play for South Sydney. They have got an image about them. That’s due to Russell Crowe.”
