Queensland state parliament passed the Civil Partnerships Bill which means same-sex couples in civil unions are now legally recognised. Great job QLD! You’re not the fag-hating assholes that past statistics indicate! Deputy premier Andrew Fraser introduced the bill announcing: “Queensland’s parliament has voted to lift the shackles of discrimination. It will go down as one of Queensland Labor’s most significant achievements.”
*APPLAUSE*
Now we wait to see what becomes of the federal Labor party conscience vote taking place this month at the ALP conference from December 2 to 4.
Could Australia be on the verge of officially ousting government-controlled sexual discrimination? It’s about time.
