Post Malone Surprised A Fan Fighting Cancer With A Day At FOMO Fest

Despite looking like he hasn’t seen a hairdresser, or maybe shower, in a couple of years, Post Malone has confirmed he has a heart pretty much made of gold.

While in Australia for FOMO Festival recently, the rapper made time to hang out with a young lad from NSW‘s south coast – Eli Chatfield.

12-year-old Eli has been fighting brain cancer and going through radiotherapy and chemotherapy for the last few months, and has previously had a tumour removed from his medulla on the base of his brain. He’s one tough kiddo.

Following his page Fighting For EliBonnie Gomez from Melbourne noticed that Eli was wearing a Post Malone shirt in one of his photos and decided to rally around to see if they could get the rapper to meet up with Eli while he was in Aus on tour.

Speaking with PEDESTRIAN.TV, Bonnie said that she initially put the call out on Facebook, which then got shared to Twitter, and the magic of the Internet got someone pretty close to Post Malone across what was happening.

“It [Facebook] didn’t get heaps of traction,” Bonnie told us.

“We then posted a few things on Twitter, and on the 9th, Post Malone’s dad started messaging Eli’s mum.”

Things went from there – Post Malone was told about his young fan who was having a rough time, and made the trip to Ronald McDonald House to visit Eli and hang out with him.

Post Malone gifted Eli with his own necklace and some new merch, and took the young lad along to FOMO Fest in Sydney‘s Parramatta as his personal guest. We’re also told that Post Malone also chats with Eli on Facetime, bless.

A registered nurse and representative of Eli’s hometown team, the Batemans Bay Tigers, has set up a GoFundMe to help raise money for Eli’s treatment and hospital visits. At the moment it’s sitting just shy of $14k of its $20k target.

Eli’s also a massive fan of NRL‘s Wests Tigers, who have previously invited him along to matches and gifted him with footy boots, but he’s also a huge Richmond Tigers fan. So hey Dustin Martin, if you’re reading this, give Eli a shout yeah?
