Melbourne GP Calls Pete Evans ‘Dictionary Definition Of Fucking Idiot’ After COVID Comments

Vyom Sharma, Pete Evans

It’s nothing new for medical professionals to pile on Pete Evans at this point, but damn, it’s still entertaining when it happens. This week, Melbourne GP Dr Vyom Sharma has set his sights on the chef and conspiracy theorist, calling him a “fucking idiot” for his latest comments on COVID-19.

During a recent interview, Pete Evans was speaking on whether the virus is contagious. “I choose not to believe in that narrative because it doesn’t make any sense to me,” he said, before scoffing at the notion that ignoring medical advice could spread COVID to a vulnerable person.

Vyom Sharma fired up upon seeing the video, retweeting it to his followers and proclaiming:

“‘I choose not to believe that narrative because it doesn’t make any sense to me’ – that is the literal Merriam Webster dictionary definition of ‘f***ing idiot’.”

He continued:

“Einstein’s theory of special relativity makes no sense to me. But I believe the narrative because I know there are people out there who are smarter than me, and know more things. And hence I rely on my GPS when driving.”

There were rumours this week that Evans had been tapped to appear on the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. Host Julia Morris said that this is not confirmed, but told Nova she’d be “very cross” if he wasn’t at least approached.

Earlier this year, Seven cancelled the long-running My Kitchen Rules in the face of steadily declining ratings, and the network also cut ties with Pete Evans. It remains to be seen whether Ten will bring him on for its own reality show.
