More Men Are Snapchatting Sexts Than Women

Australians love Snapchat. It’s official. Rated. Certified. Researched. Confirmed. We absolutely love that shit. Can’t get enough. And that love is surely only set to intensify, with Snapchat-like features set to be integrated into the basic Messaging function on all iPhones following the release of the new iOS 8. But what exactly is everyone using the app for? For a lot of us, it turns out, we’re swapping pics of our bits.

In a survey conducted by Sydney-based independent advertising agency The Works, almost half of all Snapchat users fall in the age bracket of 16-25. And of the people surveyed, they found that females are more likely to be using the app on a daily basis than males. This is all probably not really new information to anyone who has had interactions with both sides of the male/female coin.
What you will find interesting – and, because we’re all immature legends, hilarious – is the fact that the survey revealed that a quarter of people who use the service have, at one time or another, sent off a sexy little somethin’ somethin’ to friends, lovers, or potential admirers.
More to that, the gender ratio is a wee bit askew in the ole’ nudes game. Whilst one in five females have copped to snapping off a sext from time to time, a whopping three in five males have admitted to doing the same. Which means for every one boob shot sent off, three dick pics are sent in return.
It begs the question: who are all these dudes sexting? Are they flinging around schlong shots at random will, hoping the numbers game will pay off in the long run? Has there been a swathe of burgeoning friendships forever ruined by an ill-timed wang? Or is there some sort of new age movement where men are sharing their privates among each other for support and confidence, far beyond the pressures of macho aesthetics, or even for purposes of creating a community in tune to the needs of men’s health?
EIther way, it’s a buyer’s market in the industry of dick pics right now. Whether you asked for it or not.
